Thomas’ Right Foot Injury After Attack By Thunder Horse- Owner Considers the Horse Insane
An owner sustained serious injuries to his right foot, mainly from the kick of a horse that he had owned from birth, when the horse attacked him. The owner reported that he had come to the conclusion that the horse had lost its mind prior to the time he found out about the horse’s abnormal behaviour.
Each morning, since Thomas started his small ranch, he would begin each day exactly as he had begun every day, prior to starting his ranch. When the sun rose on the first day of the week, Thomas would take a bucket of horse feed from the kitchen and walk directly to the barn door. At that point, he would stop at the door of his barn and call out for Thunder, his stallion that was waiting for him inside.
Thunder was the first horse that Thomas owned. He helped Thunder’s mother deliver Thunder, when he visited the ranch. Early in Thunder’s life, Thomas provided care for Thunder when he was sick and would spend most of his time beside Thunder nursing Thunder after he had suffered injuries. Everyone who worked for Thomas at his small ranch knew that Thomas loved Thunder and thought of Thunder as a friend.Since Thomas and Thunder have been together for so long, Thomas knows that as soon as Thunder hears Thomas’ footsteps, Thunder will whinny with delight, turn his head towards the door so that Thomas will be able to pet him.
Throughout his ownership of Thunder, Thomas has never seen Thunder act aggressively toward him, and so he did not expect anything different on this morning. When he entered the barn and set his bucket on the ground, Thomas called out to Thunder, “Good morning, buddy,” and was met with a loud, thunderous neigh that frightened him. In an instant, Thomas stopped walking. Thunder was pacing frantically back and forth in the stall. Thomas was confused about what was happening with Thunder. Thunder’s ears were flat on his head; his nostrils were wide open, and his eyes were bulging in fear.
“What happened?” Thomas asked with concern. Thunder had walked up closer to Thomas, and at that moment, he could see a huge shadow of Thunder standing on his back legs. Thomas did not have enough time to react and jump.
Just as Thunder’s legs came crashing down against the wall beside Thomas, he lunged at Thomas with all his might. When Thunder hit the back of Thomas’ body against the wooden boards, Thomas was unable to inhale because of the impact. Thunder pushed against Thomas’ chest.Thomas noticed Thunder’s enormous hooves inches away from his face. Thunder might accidentally crush him if he stepped in the wrong direction – possibly even kill him.
